This was an absolute delight to discover! I had the Cod, fries, slaw, and hush puppies. The hush puppies were the best I have had in years. Not just bland cornbread. Fish fries and slaw was perfect. I absolutely loved their tartar sauce. Staff was friendly, atmosphere quite comfortable. Will be back!!!
I enjoy this restaurant every time we visit. This time I tried the Old English burger, it was like nothing I had ever eaten. It is served on an English Muffin with the most delicious cheese skirt! Who knew cheese could taste that good! I think I found my new favorite. My husband always orders the catfish tenders with their creamy slaw, he raves about the slaw for days after we have left. Everything about this place is great. The food always hot. It's great to see this place on the Lamar Square! Go eat here!
The cod was delicious. Fried pickles were perfect. Not a terrible price. Very homey. would recommend to anyone.
Loved Cap's Cabin. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Great place to stop for delicious fish and chips. There are a few options for fish, our party had the cod, it was crispy and served piping hot. The tarter sauce is not a traditional tarter, slightly sweeter than most, but a perfect addition to the fish. We also had the slaw, it was the best I have ever had, slightly tart but sweet. The perfect combination. Our waitress was excellent and attentive to our table. We would definitely stop here again, if you are ever passing thru Lamar stop here. You wont regret it!
My family and I visited Cap's Cabin on our way to Arkansas. We found this place online, read the reviews, and decided to give it a try. Cap's did not disappoint! I had the cod and chips and my wife had their tasty BBQ Ranch burger. My cod was salted properly and cooked to perfection. My wife enjoyed her burger, she ate the whole thing! The service was great, we even got to visit with Cap. Next time passing thru this will be our stop!
